  • White storks have long legs and necks so that they can wade into deep water, while still keeping the ability to spear fish with their straight pointed bill.

  • This bird is very large and has a perfect wingspan for its migratory flights.

  • Usually nests in trees or manmade structures. This allows both the parent and offspring to be protected from any land predators.

  • They have learned to rely on soaring techniques (thermal air currents), to conserve energy on long, migratory flights.

  • They use bill-clattering and body postures to communicate with one another.
